Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is a joyous day for some, while for others it is a day of sadness. One thing we all have in common is this: we often feel inadequate and overwhelmed. When we look at some key women in Scripture, we can see how easy it is to fall into traps, and we can also be encouraged to know that we serve a God who loves us and is for us.

Love After the Cross

After Jesus put death to death, He didn’t just ascend into Heaven right away. We actually see that He appeared to some folks at various times. This is important because we can get a glimpse of how His love really changes our lives – from the inside out.

One truth that we can’t get over is this: the Creator of the universe loves us. Because of His love, we can be connected to Him in relationship. Because of His love, we can love others. Because of His love, we can have the boldness and power to live like Jesus. For God so loved… you!

Easter

There are a lot of popular Bible verses, but none more known than John 3:16. As we break down this verse in the context in which it was said, we are reminded of God’s love, His rescue plan for humanity, and how we can be in relationship with Him.

In The Garden

We’ve seen Jesus enter the city, enter the temple and enter the upper room. All of these events are leading up to His eventual arrest, trial and death on the cross. As we close out this series, we will see Jesus enter the garden and cry out to the Father. We will clearly see the humanity of Jesus, while also recognizing the hypocrisy of the disciples. There is a purpose to it all: that the Scriptures may be fulfilled.

What if you knew you only had 1 week left? How would you spend your time? What would you want people to know? As we look at Jesus’ final week leading to the cross, we see His heart for humanity on display.

The Upper Room

As Jesus is preparing to die on the cross for all humanity, we see His heart as He eats a meal with His disciples. Unbeknownst to the other guys in the room, this last meal pointed directly to the sacrifice Jesus would soon become. How awesome is it that the Savior of the world was such a servant?

Who Is This Man?

Before Jesus entered Jerusalem in what would be the week leading to His death, we see Him once again tell His disciples about the cross and the resurrection, we see Him teach His disciples about serving others, and we see Him heal the blind. All of this leads to His triumphal entry where people recognize Him as the Savior, yet they don’t realize Who He really is. The question they faced thousands of years ago is the same question facing us today: Who is this man?

Don’t Give Up

We see all the way back in the book of Genesis how the enemy attacks people to not only destroy them, but to also destroy their relationships. If we want to have a healthy, God-honoring marriage, we must understand the tactics of the enemy and overcome that with the purpose and plan and power of the Savior. Our marriages are worth fighting for.

Sadly, approximately 50% of marriages end in divorce. Why does this happen? While there are many different things we could point to, we believe marriages fail because husbands and wives just aren’t prepared. Throughout this series, we will look at some key components that will help prepare us for and strengthen marriage relationships. We will discover truths from Scripture that will help us foster God-honoring marriages.

United

When we think of marriage, we automatically think of a commitment. The problem isn’t what we think, it’s what we believe. If we really believe marriage is a commitment between a husband and wife, then we have a great first step to a God-honoring marriage. Let’s learn what it means to truly unit as one under the authority of God.

Fighting Fair

Conflict is part of every marriage. We are going to fight because we are sinful people. The question isn’t, “Are we going to fight?” The question is, “How are we going to fight?” The Bible is clear and practical when it comes to fighting fair in the midst of conflict, especially when we apply it to the marriage relationship.

Protection and Pursuit

Marriage isn’t easy, but it can be beautiful. Maybe you’re thinking, “What does that even mean?” If we can keep our priorities in order and continue to work for our spouse, we will have the type of foundation for our marriage that honors God and produces real joy.
